We’re looking for an exceptional Compliance Manager to scale our capabilities and bring a high level of expertise as Spriggy grows from Australia’s most loved pocket money app, to a platform of products. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining compliance frameworks across the business and ensuring the business is consistently and effectively managing all relevant obligations. 

We expect you to be fully versed in financial services laws and regulations and comfortable in a hyper-growth environment. You will be commercially aware and while not afraid to say no, will always be looking for how to get to yes, as we scale out our product offerings.

The skillset

This role is going to be hands-on, with the expectation that you build key aspects of the compliance function as we scale. You will need to be able to work with leaders from across the business, building a compliance culture, helping them embed good compliance practices into everyday processes.  

Key skills and traits to succeed in this role: 

  • Proven experience with managing compliance obligations and methodologies in the financial services sector.
  • Excellent working knowledge of key regulatory frameworks including AFSL, Privacy, AML and employment standards.
  • Experience working with legal and regulatory bodies.
  • A genuine desire to be part of a fast-growing company, improving financial outcomes for families.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, problem solve, challenge and drive outcomes.


In the first 3-6 months you will have:

  • Gained an excellent understanding of Spriggy’s products and services.
  • Become responsible for the day-to-day compliance activities. 
  • Reviewed existing compliance arrangements and be on the way to implementing robust frameworks to improve processes across all our product lines.
  • Displayed and communicated expert domain knowledge in all areas of compliance management.
  • Made a meaningful difference in our ability to deliver initiatives at speed, ensuring full compliance. 
  • Maintained compliance registers and diaries to ensure all obligations are being met.
  • Worked with cross-functional teams to define clear compliance requirements. 
  • Completed an external assurance review of our compliance controls.
  • Prepared materials for Compliance & Risk Committee meetings.


And beyond you will:

  • Develop new compliance programs when needed to facilitate new products and features.
  • Identify further areas of improvement across the compliance function.
  • Review and update key policies across the business. 
  • Develop an internal audit program.
  • Help build out a team as we scale.
  • Keep up to date with all industry changes and continue your development through dedicated training.
